vs. M.D. Anderson Hospital:
District Court, Harris County, Texas; We represented the
family of a boy who suffered severe neurological damage
at M.D.Anderson Hospital as a result of a drug cocktail
given to him. The case resulted in a confidential settlement.
Arredondo
vs. Kelsey-Seybold Clinic; District Court, Harris
County,Texas; We represented a young woman in this suit
against Kelsey-Seybold, an HMO, for failing to treat hypertension
that led to kidney failure. The case resulted in a confidential
settlement.
Blaine
vs. Eugene Heiman, M.D., The Woodlands Sports Medicine
Centre, P.A., and Hopestar Orthopedic Group, L.L.P.,
District Court, Harris County, Texas; We represented Cindy
Blaine in a lawsuit against Eugene Heiman an orthopedic
surgeon. Dr. Heiman performed an arthroscopic evaluation
and repair of the SLAP lesion on Cindy Blaine. Following
surgery, Dr. Heiman determined that dense adhesions would
require manipulation under general anesthesia. Dr. Heiman
caused dislocation and a severe a brachial plexius injury
to Cindy Blaine’s arm and shoulder resulting in
permanent disabling injury. The case settled for a confidential
amount.
Chae
vs. Proong Kim, M.D.; District Court, Harris
County, Texas; We represented the Chae family in this
case against an obstetrician who failed to diagnose and
treat an infection which led to the death of Mrs. Chae
who was seven months pregnant. The case resulted in a
confidential settlement.
Dick
W. McKinney, Individually, and As Executor of the Estate
of Beverly McKinney, Deceased, Renee J. Smith, Richard
Dujay, and David Dujay vs. Carroll Robert Boone, James
Bryan Cooper, M.D., James Bryan Cooper, M.D., Terry Earl
Williams, M.D., Bay Area Dermatology, Richard A. Marietta,
M.D., and Richard A. Marietta, M.D., P.A., District
Court, Galveston County, Texas; We represented Dick W.
McKinney and his adult children in a case against several
physicians who failed to appropriately diagnose Beverly
McKinney with Stevens - Johnson syndrome. Lack of appropriate
treatment resulted in Beverly McKinney becoming infected
and septic which caused her death. The case settled in
mediation for a confidential amount.
Mertz
vs. Peter Andrus, M.D.; District Court, Harris
County, Texas; We represented the Mertz family in this
case against a pediatrician who failed to diagnose and
treat meningitis in an infant. The case resulted in a
confidential settlement.
Permetti
vs. Kelsey-Seybold Clinic; Redmon vs. Cambridge International
Inc.; Kieke vs. Memorial Southeast Hospital;
District Court, Harris County, Texas; In these cases,
we represented the families of three patients who committed
suicide as a result of their doctor’s failure to
properly treat their mental illnesses. The Permetti case
resulted in a judgment of $700,000+. The other cases resulted
in confidential settlements.
Rafte
vs. Sam Law, M.D.; District Court, Harris County,
Texas; We represented Mrs. Rafte in this case against
her obstetrician for failing to timely diagnose and treat
breast cancer. The case resulted in a settlement.
Robert
Rios and Norma Leticia Garcia vs. St. Luke’s Episcopal
Hospital, Cecilia I. Lowder, M.D., and Tuyen V. Tran,
M.D.; District Court, Harris County, Texas; We
represented Roberto Rios and his wife, Norma Leticia Garcia
in a medical malpractice case where his showed signs and
symptoms of severe coronary artery disease. Roberto Rios
was later discharged from the hospital. He went home and
had a heart attack which rendered him a cardiac cripple.
He was no longer able to perform his usual activities
as welder. This case was settled at mediation for a confidential
amount.
Laura
Alice Snell and Mark Stephen Snell, Sr., Individually
and as Next Friends of Mark Stephen Snell, Jr. and Jack
Walter Snell vs. Aashish Kiran Shah, M.D, John Lloyd,
M.D., and Woman’s Hospital of Texas; District
Court, Galveston County, Texas; We represented Mark and
Laura Snell and their Minor Children against Woman’s
Hospital of Texas, Dr. Aashish Shah and Dr. John Morgan
Lloyd for failure to diagnose early sepsis to severe sepsis,
septic shock, DIC. Doses of vasopressors could be used
to save Laura’s life both of the failure to appropriately
treat the early sepsis Laura lost both legs below the
knees and parts of both hands. Mediation was unsuccessful
but constant follow-up by the mediator and our firm resulted
in a confidential settlement with all parties.
Tidmore
vs. William Bernell, M.D.; District Court, Tarrant
County, Texas; We represented a senior citizen who suffered
multiple disc injuries during surgery. The case resulted
in a confidential settlement.
Dorothy
Ward and Gerald Ward vs. Frances Allene King, M.D., P.A.,
One Fannin Surgical Associates, Ralph S. Sharman, M.D.,
Women’s Radiology Associates, P.A., Obstetrical
and Gynecology Associates, P.A. d/b/a The Breast Center
and the Woman’s Hospital of Texas; District
Court, Harris County, Texas; We represented Dorothy Ward
and Gerald Ward in a case against Dr. Ralph Sharman for
his failure to properly interpret a mammogram which led
to a failure to diagnose breast cancer at an early stage.
It settled at mediation for a confidential amount.
